WestCare California will be providing services for their new Crisis Psychiatric Response Services (CPRS) program to respond to designated
hospital emergency departments within Fresno County in which adult or older adult mental health consumers are deemed appropriate for an assessment
for involuntary psychiatric treatment pursuant to California Welfare and Institutions Code Section 5150, and to provide crisis intervention services
and assessments to said individuals. WestCare California will provide these services Monday through Friday from 3 pm to 7:30 am and 24 hours on
weekend and County declared holidays.

Description: Full time position, responsible to use evidence based modalities and applied knowledge, theories and methodologies
for the purpose of assessing , providing interventions, developing wellness plans, following up, documenting, an reporting for persons served in
the Emergency Departments at designated hospitals. The person in this position primarily performs emergency screenings for 5150 holds and
psychiatric hospital admission and is part of an evening, overnight, weekend and holiday response team. The staff member is co-occurring
proficient in screening, integrated assessment and dually focused treatment needs dependent on person’s served, stage and phase of change
for each identified area to address their concerns based upon the strengths, needs, abilities and preferences of the person served. Other
duties may be assigned as needed.
Requirements: Ability to work collaboratively with others in a manner that is pleasant and professional; extensive knowledge
of behavioral health terminology; demonstrated knowledge of theoretical and practical concepts of individual and family behavior; demonstrated
ability to deal with crisis situations; knowledge to deal with difficult people; demonstrated ability to handle a client concern/grievance
according to agency protocol; strong supervisory and leadership skills; ability to work well in a team environment; ability to exercise good
judgment and discretion; ability to operate a computer and complete documents in Microsoft Word program formats or the ability to learn;
ability to respond as needed to crisis situations in an efficient manner; ability to complete work tasks within scheduled work hours; excellent
verbal and written communication skills; must be able to function independently and have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to
work effectively with residents, staff, and support agencies; two years supervised post-graduate work in a clinical setting; competency in
formulating mental health and substance abuse diagnostic impressions; understanding of billing and productivity issues; knowledge of behavioral
healthcare practice and treatment strategies; ability to manage multiple tasks and demands effectively; ability to work with dually diagnosed
population; qualified to write 5150 holds and releases; knowledge of client rights and ability to apply client rights principles to everyday
situations and under all circumstances; knowledge of HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2, and other regulations governing confidentiality, privacy, and
security as it related to behavioral healthcare; must be able to relate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and at times
hostile people within the facility; must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action; willing to
seek out new work projects and contribute ideas and efforts to the constant improvement of WestCare services. Current California Licensed
practitioner (LCSW), in good standing; prefer two (2) years of supervised social work experience in a health care setting, working directly with
individuals.
