WestCare Georgia's Augusta Alcohol and Drug (A&D) Intensive Residential Treatment Program provides intensive alcohol and other drug abuse treatment services for adolescent males involved in the Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) statewide. The Augusta A&D program uses a modified therapeutic community approach in a male-only, secure residential treatment setting. The clinical curriculum is designed to meet the needs of adolescent males ages 13–17 years old. We are currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of:

RESIDENTIAL COUNSELOR (DIRECT CARE) - 40 hours or 8 hours per week positions. Person in this position will provide direct supervision of clients insuring safety of all residents, including transportation, modeling appropriate behavior, and compliance to program rules. REQ: HS/GED and at least 1 year experience working in a residential setting. Ability to pass background screening and current acceptable GA driver's license required. ACTIVITY THERAPIST (40 hours per week) – Person in this full-time position will provide recreational, cultural, horticultural, leisure and therapeutic activities to the residents aimed at self esteem improvement, skill building, vocational improvement and education, one to one contact residents as a social role model, writes recreational and activity therapy plan needed for adolescent success and welfare after program completion, focuses on social skills and social setting responsibility and drug free activity. Works closely with the case managers to provide needed referrals and placements for re-entry plan. REQ: Valid GA drivers license, minimum of 1-3 years experience working with children in a residential or outpatient setting + Master's degree in psychology, social work, or related area. Westcare Georgia Boggs facility in Keysville, GA provides residential drug education and treatment services for adolescent males (ages 13-17) who have a history of substance abuse or dependence. The principle approach to our treatment is based on a gender-responsive, modified therapeutic community.
