Meet Tiana: A Recovery Journey

After seeing Allen Griffin’s recovery story on Facebook, Tiana reached out to us wanting to share her recovery story in the hope of helping even one person with theirs. Thank you, Tiana, for your willingness to share your vulnerable and intimate story.

I spent 4 years running the streets and was addicted to meth. I lost everything: my kids, my apartment, my life. When I first finished the program at WestCare Nevada, I didn’t stay connected to my recovery journey, and my children were removed from me again. Embarrassed and ashamed, it took me a long year to return to WestCare Nevada and receive the help I needed.

After my second chance at recovery and finishing the program, I stayed connected to the alumni association, attending every month. Through my efforts to stay committed to my recovery, I regained custody of some of my children and am on the path to regain at least visitation rights for others.

Thank you to WestCare for helping me and helping me reunify with my children. I have an apartment now with my kids and grandma, and the desire to use substances is no longer with me. I am grateful for the support system I have now and look forward to a future with my kids and family.
