On December 16 and 17, WestCare Board Member Jeannette M. Quintanilla, visiting from the Pacific Islands (Guam), came to the Fresno Administrative Office, which houses many of WestCare California’s services and supports additional locations throughout the state. Jeannette was joined by WestCare California Vice Presidents Mary Ann Knoy and Jenny Gonzalez, Director of Media and Public Relations Ciana Torres, and other team members to explore the transformative programs that exemplify WestCare California’s mission.

The tours highlighted the following services:

  • Residential Substance Abuse Treatment Services (MLK Location) – Providing 24/7 care in a structured environment to help individuals overcome addiction.
  • Outpatient Substance Abuse Treatment Services (Belmont Location) – Offering flexible treatment options for individuals pursuing recovery while maintaining their daily routines.
  • State Prison Reentry Services (STOP Area 3) – Supporting individuals transitioning from incarceration with resources and guidance for successful reintegration.
  • HIV Education & Prevention Services (The Living Room) – Delivering compassionate care, prevention education, and testing for those living with or affected by HIV.

Jeannette participated in detailed discussions with staff, exploring how WestCare California’s services align with Guam’s population needs. She gained a deeper understanding of the organization’s wraparound service model, emphasizing staff-to-client warm handoffs and a commitment to the continuum of care. These insights will inform efforts in Guam to better support individuals in need.

WestCare’s dedication to Uplifting the Human Spirit and empowering individuals to achieve their personal goals was evident throughout the tours. Jeannette expressed gratitude to the program directors and staff for their professionalism, knowledge, and unwavering commitment to equity, highlighting the meaningful impact of their work.

We are proud of the incredible efforts of our teams to foster hope and drive positive change in our communities. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who contributed to the success of this visit!
