On Oct. 17, with great pride and satisfaction, we held our first treatment graduation. Six of our participants from Guara Bi – Dominican Republic finished their treatment, which lasted a year and a half, and are now reintegrated into society. It is worth mentioning that one of them is now part of our therapeutic staff at the program, another serves in a volunteer capacity with our Community Action Council (CAC), and another works for the Dominican Republic’s National Drug Council/Consejo Nacional De Drogas (CND). It was an honor to not only be able to present this first graduation ceremony, but have Chief Executive Officer for WestCare Foundation, Mr. Ken Ortbals, and our Chief Operating Officer of WestCare Caribbean and Latin America, Mr. Cristian Duarte, in attendance along with our graduates’ loved ones.
