In late 2023, the Lied STEM Academy Robotics Team, sponsored by WestCare Nevada, embarked on an exciting journey in the realm of Vex Robotics competitions. Their dedication and hard work paid off as they triumphed in two major competitions. Securing a commendable 3rd place in the first event, they soared to an impressive 1st place finish in the second. Even more remarkable, this middle school team fearlessly took on the challenge of competing against high school level competitors.
Their stellar performance secured their spot in the upcoming State competition in Las Vegas next month…. and with their eyes set on the ultimate prize, a win or high placement in the State competition guarantees their ticket to the World competition in Dallas, Texas.
It’s worth noting that this remarkable team is composed entirely of 8th graders, showcasing not only their talent but also their potential for even greater achievements in the future.
