We recently had the honor of hosting two esteemed visitors: Mr. Cristian Duarte, our Chief Operating Officer, and Mr. Jorge Olivares, President of the Latin American Federation of Therapeutic Communities. During their visit, they met with our program participants, offering words of encouragement and inspiration. Their itinerary also included a meeting with General Marte MartĂnez, President of the National Drug Council, where they reaffirmed a shared commitment to advancing addiction prevention and treatment. Together, we are working to strengthen strategic alliances aimed at building societies free from the harmful effects of psychoactive substances.
Additionally, we were privileged to welcome Mr. Ken Ortbals, WestCare’s CEO, to Guara Bi Dominican Republic. Accompanying him were Mrs. MarĂa Elena Cruz Batista, former rector of the University of Santo Domingo and President of CAC of the Dominican Republic, and Mr. Cristian Duarte. Our participants had the unique opportunity to engage in meaningful conversations with these distinguished guests, sharing experiences and receiving motivational support.
During his visit, Mr. Ortbals toured the Vida y Esperanza Foundation, where he was warmly welcomed by its directors. This visit marked an important step in fostering collaboration between WestCare, Guara Bi, and the foundation, as we unite our efforts to create a stronger network of support for those affected by addiction.
