WestCare Minnesota is part of the national WestCare network of nonprofit organizations committed to improving the health and well-being of the communities we serve. Through the Staff Sergeant Parker Gordon Fox Suicide Prevention Grant Program (SSG Fox SPGP), we provide comprehensive, community-based support for veterans, active-duty service members, and their families, with a strong focus on both peer support and case management services. Our peer support services foster meaningful veteran-to-veteran connections through shared lived experiences, while our community-based case management helps individuals navigate systems, access benefits, and connect to VA and community resources that support their overall well-being.
In response to the increasing rates of veteran suicide both nationally and in Minnesota, we offer non-clinical prevention and wellness programming that promotes healing and connection, including mindfulness-based activities, creative arts engagement, peer-led group sessions, and skill-building workshops focused on coping and resilience. Our approach is veteran-centered, trauma-informed, respectful, and inclusive of all who have served, with an emphasis on reducing isolation, strengthening connections, and supporting each individualās unique needs. Our mission is to uplift the human spirit by providing the skills, resources, and support individuals need to achieve their personal goals and create meaningful, lasting change in their lives.
