Latest Major Gift for Planned 57,999 Square Foot Transitional Housing Facility for 84 Women with Children
(Las Vegas, Nevada): WestCare Nevada, Inc., part of a global system of health and human services, is proud to announce that the MGM Resorts Foundation has awarded a major gift in the form of a $79,200 one-time grant to support the furnishing and installation of appliances in 11 apartments at The Village at The Women and Children’s Campus, a 57,999 square foot transitional living facility located on the five-acre property that the WestCare Nevada Women and Children’s Campus currently occupies in Las Vegas. This facility will welcome women who are either pregnant or parenting with children ages nine or younger and who have completed a residential treatment and rehabilitation program at the attached 130 bed Women and Children’s campus or with another provider. All consumers will live on-site as they work with our specialized and licensed staff to gain the skills, employment, confidence and means to live on their own. The total length of stay can range from 90 days to a maximum of 18 months. With nearly $6 million raised of the total $17 million needed for the construction of the 84 units, two multipurpose rooms and an adjoining playground that will comprise the facility, this gift brings us closer to beginning the first phase of construction which will include 22 one-bedroom apartments, four two-bedroom apartments and two multi-purpose rooms.
