WestCare’s Beverly Watts Davis Receives CADCA 2026 Lifetime Achievement Award

WestCare proudly celebrates Beverly Watts Davis, Chief Officer of Resource Development and Program Support, on receiving the 2026 Lifetime Achievement Award from the Community Anti-Drug Coalitions of America (CADCA). The prestigious honor recognizes more than four decades of extraordinary leadership and service dedicated to substance misuse prevention, behavioral health, and strengthening communities across the nation. 

Presented during CADCA’s 25th Annual Mid-Year Training Institute in Orlando, Florida, the Lifetime Achievement Award recognizes individuals whose careers have left a lasting impact on the prevention field. Beverly’s lifelong commitment to public service, collaboration, and community empowerment embodies the values that have guided her work throughout an exceptional career. 

Today, Beverly helps to advance programs and initiatives that improve behavioral health, build community capacity, and reduce community harm. Her leadership continues to shape WestCare’s mission of Uplifting the Human Spirit through innovation, partnership, and service. 

Before joining WestCare, Beverly served as an elected official in Austin and Travis County, Texas, before moving into federal service as a Senior Executive with the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), where she served as Senior Advisor to the Assistant Secretary and Director of the Center for Substance Abuse Prevention. Her distinguished career also includes leadership roles as Executive Director of San Antonio Fighting Back, Inc. and Senior Vice President at United Way of San Antonio and Bexar County. 

Beverly’s commitment to advancing prevention extends well beyond her professional roles. Throughout her career, she has served on the boards and advisory councils of numerous national and community organizations, including CADCA, helping strengthen prevention coalitions and expand opportunities for collaboration across the country. She currently serves on the boards of the Ella Austin Community Center, Housing First Town Village Homeless Community, and Annie’s List, while also serving on the Bexar County Hospital District Board of Managers. 

Her influence has been recognized through an extraordinary list of honors, including induction into the San Antonio Women’s Hall of Fame, the FBI Director’s Award for Community Leadership, the Texas Yellow Rose Award, three U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Secretariat Awards for Distinguished Service, the U.S. Attorney General’s Gould-Wysinger Award for juvenile justice delinquency prevention, and numerous national leadership awards recognizing her contributions to prevention, public health, and community service. 

Throughout her career, Beverly has exemplified the power of servant leadership, collaboration, and an unwavering commitment to strengthening individuals, families, and communities. Her dedication continues to inspire colleagues, partners, and prevention professionals across the country.
