VETcare Celebrates Flag Day with Troop 7009

It was an honor to work with the Salem BSA Boys Troop 7009 this month. The troop came to our GDP facility to conduct a flag ceremony with VETcare staff, members of the Family Pack 7009, and our Veterans. The US Flag Code states: “The flag, when it is in such condition that it is no longer a fitting emblem for display, should be destroyed in a dignified way, preferably by burning.”

In keeping with the law of our land and the recommendations of our organization, they present the United States Flags, the symbol of our great nation, which has served their useful life as a symbol of freedom and our country for retirement.

After the ceremony, the scouts, their families, and the Veterans and VETcare staff gathered around for a dessert potluck. Thank you again to the Salem Boy Scout Troop 7009 for letting us participate in this commemorative moment.
