WestCare proudly congratulates Francine Prosser-Johnson, Regional Vice President of WestCare Texas, on being named a 2026 Women’s Leadership Award honoree by the San Antonio Business Journal.
The annual Women’s Leadership Awards recognize accomplished women whose leadership, innovation, professional achievement, and commitment to their communities are helping shape the future of San Antonio. This year’s honorees include executives, business owners, nonprofit leaders, and community advocates who have demonstrated a commitment not only to professional excellence, but also to mentorship, service, and creating opportunities for others.
Francine and her fellow honorees were celebrated during the 2026 Women’s Leadership Awards luncheon on August 6 at the InterContinental San Antonio Riverwalk.
For Francine, the recognition reflects a career spanning more than 25 years of leadership across business, healthcare, nonprofit service, and community engagement. Before joining WestCare, she held leadership positions with major telecommunications organizations and later served as Chief Operating Officer for the South Texas Center for Pediatric Care. Today, she brings that extensive experience to her role leading WestCare Texas and advancing the organization’s mission throughout the region.
Her impact extends well beyond her professional responsibilities. A San Antonio native, Francine has dedicated significant time to civic leadership and volunteer service, including serving as Vice Chairman of the City of San Antonio Fire Fighters and Police Officers Civil Service Commission and Chair of the City of San Antonio Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Public Awards Committee. She has also supported numerous organizations and initiatives focused on education, scholarships, youth, and community development.
Her commitment to service has earned recognition throughout Texas. Francine is a San Antonio Women’s Hall of Fame inductee and a recipient of the 2025 Outstanding Texan Award from the Texas Legislative Black Caucus, among numerous other honors for her professional achievements and community involvement.
At WestCare, Francine’s leadership helps strengthen programs serving individuals, families, and communities across Texas, from behavioral health and prevention initiatives to housing, education, community outreach, and other essential services.
This latest recognition celebrates what Francine demonstrates throughout her work: that meaningful leadership reaches beyond an organization and into the communities it serves.
