WestCare is proud to announce that Dwayne Stevens, Chief Information Officer, has been named a Top 50 Technology Professional by OnConferences’ OnCon Icon Awards.
The OnCon Icon Awards celebrate outstanding achievements by top organizations and executives worldwide. This recognition is determined through peer and community voting, with voters asked to recognize leaders who have made a significant impact within their organizations or industries, contributed to their professional communities through thought leadership, driven innovation, and demonstrated exceptional leadership.
Stevens was recognized for excellence in Information Services and for his leadership in nonprofit technology. While the award honors his professional impact, he is quick to shift the spotlight to the Information Services teams he serves alongside every day.
“I am truly humbled by this recognition,” said Stevens. “I have never been someone who seeks the spotlight, but I do recognize that moments like this create an opportunity to shine that light where it belongs: on the incredible Information Services teams at WestCare. This award may have my name attached to it, but the work behind it belongs to them.”
Under Stevens’ leadership, WestCare’s Information Services division includes five departments: Data Analytics & Business Intelligence, Information Security, Information Technology, Marketing & Communication, and Software Development. Together, these teams provide the systems, strategy, safeguards, communications, data, and digital tools that help WestCare’s programs serve individuals, families, and communities across the country.
“Our Information Services teams do work that is often unseen, but it is deeply felt,” Stevens said. “They help keep people connected, protect sensitive information, improve decision-making, build tools that make work easier, and tell the story of WestCare’s mission. Their work supports the people who are directly changing lives, and that is what makes it so meaningful.”
The Data Analytics & Business Intelligence team helps transform information into insight. Through data processing, governance, reporting, dashboards, workflow improvements, and administration of key business solutions, the team supports better decision-making across WestCare. Their work helps leaders understand trends, improve operations, measure outcomes, and identify opportunities to better serve clients and communities.
The Information Security team protects the organization’s technology environment and the sensitive information entrusted to WestCare. Through security governance, workforce awareness training, cybersecurity monitoring, risk management, and incident response planning, the team plays a critical role in maintaining trust, compliance, and operational resilience.
The Information Technology team keeps WestCare’s infrastructure running across a broad and complex network of programs and locations. From system administration, cloud services, networks, equipment, disaster recovery, field services, help desk support, service delivery, telecommunications, and vendor coordination, the IT team helps ensure that staff have the tools and support they need to do their work effectively.
The Marketing & Communication team promotes WestCare’s mission, programs, services, and impact to internal and external audiences. Through content creation, public relations, social media, branding, internal communication, external communication, and digital engagement, the team helps connect people to WestCare’s work and strengthens awareness of the organization’s mission of Uplifting the Human Spirit.
The Software Development team develops, maintains, and supports custom applications that meet WestCare’s unique operational needs, including WestCare’s Intranet platform and certified electronic health record, the Clinical Data System. Their work streamlines workflows, supports interoperability, strengthens data management, and helps staff access tools designed around the realities of WestCare’s programs.
“In nonprofit technology, success is not just about systems, software, or infrastructure,” Stevens said. “Success is about whether those tools help people serve better. It is about giving our teams more time, better information, safer systems, clearer communication, and stronger support. That is what our Information Services departments do every day.”
This recognition reflects not only Stevens’ leadership, but also the collective excellence of the Information Services professionals who support WestCare’s mission behind the scenes. Their work strengthens the organization’s ability to deliver behavioral health and human services, support frontline staff, improve operations, and reach the communities WestCare serves.
“I am grateful for the recognition,” Stevens said. “But I am even more grateful for the people I get to work with. WestCare’s Information Services Departments bring creativity, skill, patience, innovation, and heart to their work every day. They are the reason this recognition matters.”
Through their dedication, WestCare’s Information Services teams continue to advance innovation in nonprofit technology while supporting the organization’s broader mission. Their work helps ensure that WestCare’s programs have the tools, insights, systems, and support needed to continue Uplifting the Human Spirit of those we serve.
