Pembroke Pines, FL – WestCare The Village South is honored to announce the award of a $1.2 million grant from The Jim Moran Foundation as a part of their 25th anniversary to support the Renovation for a Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU) at the Broward Community Behavioral Health Center in Pembroke Pines.
This generous contribution will enable WestCare The Village South to renovate the CSU, a critical facility designed to serve individuals facing mental health crises. Once completed, the unit will offer immediate and short-term care for those in urgent need, many of whom may otherwise not have access to essential and lifesaving mental health services.
“The support from The Jim Moran Foundation is both timely and transformative,” said Danny Blanco, Chief Operating Officer of WestCare Florida. “This grant allows us to create a safe, compassionate space where individuals facing mental health challenges can stabilize and receive the care they need to begin their journey to recovery. We are grateful and humbled to receive this generous grant from The Jim Moran Foundation, whose legacy has profoundly shaped our community.”
To recognize its 25th Anniversary, The Foundation has proactively awarded more than $10 million in special grants – with more to be announced in the coming months – that reach beyond its traditional giving guidelines.
“Identified as a pressing need in Broward County, we appreciate WestCare The Village South for prioritizing access to vital mental health services delivered with integrity and understanding,” said Jan Moran, Chairman and President of The Jim Moran Foundation.
