St. Petersburg, FL – October 27, 2024 – WestCare GulfCoast-FL, Inc. embraced the Halloween spirit by participating in one of the most highly anticipated community events of the year. With over 100,000 attendees spread across 22 vibrant blocks on Central Avenue, the team handed out candy to a parade of ghosts, goblins, and even some “scary” aliens, bringing joy to local families.

In addition to the treats, children and parents created beautiful butterflies in celebration of Camp Mariposa. This year-round program offers addiction prevention and mentoring to youth impacted by a family member’s substance use disorder, symbolized by the butterfly’s journey of transformation.

WestCare GulfCoast-FL was proudly represented by:

  • Leslie Prewitt, Director of Community Engagement
  • Kendra Abraham, Camp Mariposa Director
  • Jennifer Zamorano, LCSW-QS, Clinical Services Director
  • Leah Braswell, Quality Assurance Coordinator
  • Linda Welborn, Mustard Seed Inn Program Manager

The event exemplified WestCare’s commitment to engaging the community and providing programs that uplift and support families. “Halloween is a perfect opportunity to connect with the community while spreading awareness of our transformative programs,” said Leslie Prewitt.

WestCare GulfCoast-FL is honored to be part of such a dynamic and inclusive event and looks forward to more opportunities to serve and celebrate with the St. Petersburg community.
